Swansea University Branch, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol

Swansea University works in partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and the University's branch is situated within Academi Hywel Teifi. As a member of the Coleg, you are also a member of the institution's branch. The branch plays a key role in the organisation of the College and the Welsh medium organisation within Swansea University by uniting staff members to discuss and consider institutional as well as national Welsh medium matters.

Swansea University’s branch is situated in room 163 in the Talbot building and offers information on the opportunities and activities available within the University.

The Coleg Cymraeg creates training and study opportunities in Welsh by working with further education colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and employers. We inspire and encourage everyone to use their Welsh language skills.

The Coleg’s aim is to build a Welsh and bilingual education and training system which is open to everyone and to develop a bilingual workforce.

Your Branch Officer is

Indeg Llewelyn Owen

Coleg Cymraeg Branch Surgeries

Part of the Branch's work is to make sure that there is enough provision available through the medium of Welsh for students in Swansea, and to maintain the Welsh language community here. Each month, the Branch holds drop-in Surgeries at the Bay Campus and the Singleton Campus. This is an opportunity for students to drop in and talk to the Branch Officer for an informal chat where they can ask questions about the course and general life as a student or raise concerns. It is also an opportunity for students to meet other Welsh students. The drop-in sessions are held during the academic term between 10am-12pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Singleton campus (Talbot Room 162), and on the first Thursday of each month at the Bay campus (Y Twyni). The Branch office is always open, and students are welcome to drop by Talbot 162 at any time.
