Supporting Welsh-medium postgraduate students
The Hywel Teifi Memorial Scholarship aims to support Welsh-medium postgraduate students who wish to study a field relating to the contribution of the late Professor Hywel Teifi Edwards to Welsh learning and culture - specifically in the fields of:
- History
- Literature
- Welsh
- Politics
- Media
- Drama
- Religion
- Cultural Studies
Applications for the scholarship, worth £3000, are invited from individuals wishing to study a Welsh-medium postgraduate course at Swansea University in one of the above areas of study.
To apply for the scholarship, please send a letter of application, a CV and an outline of your research area to the Director of Academi Hywel Teifi, Prof Gwenno Ffrancon, by 4th JUly 2025. Please read the Terms and Conditions before completing your application.
Applicants must be applying for a PhD, MPhil or MRes commencing between August 2025 and July 2026. Taught Masters’ degrees are not eligible. This scholarships is offered every other year.
