The Hywel Teifi Memorial Scholarship
At Llanrwst Eisteddfod last year, a new scholarship was launched to commemorate Hywel Teifi Edwards' unique and valuable contribution to Welsh education and culture and to ensure the continuation of his vision of supporting, developing and enriching Welsh-medium education and research and creating opportunities through the medium of Welsh at national and community level.
The Hywel Teifi Memorial Scholarship will support Welsh-medium postgraduate students wishing to study a field related to Hywel's contribution to Welsh learning and culture.
It was our intention to hold events to raise money for this year's Scholarship during the past months, and to award the first recipient of the Hywel Teifi Memorial Scholarship at the Eisteddfod. With your help we can do that next year, when the Eisteddfod will be held in Tregaron.
If you could contribute £5 a month, which is less than the cost of one cup of coffee a week, we can offer this valuable support to students and help us to operate as an institution that opens the door to a bright future for Welsh speakers , whilst at the same time commemorating Hywel's special contribution to Wales.
