MSc Management (Sustainable Business) student

I am currently studying MSc Management (Sustainable Business) at the School of Management at Swansea University. I became an Academic Integrity Ambassador because it has allowed me to work closely with my lecturers; my fellow students have also sought out my advice. Before starting my course, I had been away from academia for nine years and I needed to learn the rules surrounding academic integrity from scratch. I hope to help people who have been in a similar position as I was, alongside students who have no pre-existing knowledge of academic integrity.

Outside of my studies, I love watching classic films, my favourite being Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. I enjoy playing video games too and this helps me to de-stress from my studies.

Being part of the team has also allowed me to learn about the multitude of resources that the university provides the students to ensuring academic success, which has been extremely helpful in my studies.

Outside of my studies, I am an individual with varied interests; an amateur photographer on vacations, a chef on Sundays, a writer when feeling inspired, and a philosopher on quaint evenings.

MSc Business Administration

Hi, my name is Purushottam Kumar, pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the School of Management, Swansea University.

I am honoured to join Swansea University’s Academic Integrity Ambassador program. This role offers a valuable opportunity to promote a fair, honest, and transparent academic environment at the university. In an era where new technologies, including AI, can enable academic misconduct and spread false information, maintaining the principles of research and academic integrity has become essential for students’ success.

As an international student and former consultant, I’ve dedicated time to understanding the nuances of academic integrity to help students develop the right skills supported by ethical decision-making. Learning to write effectively makes academic integrity second nature, without extra effort to avoid plagiarism. Through promoting integrity, I aim to foster an environment where learning thrives and everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
