Songs for Sanctuary Concert

David Huw Williams KC, an alumnus of Swansea University and founder of Ellerman Law, will be curating this concert. The idea was born after he received a heartfelt letter from a Ukrainian law student whose university had been destroyed in the early days of the war. Moved to act, David organised a series of online law seminars that began with a small group from Kharkiv and grew to over 200 students from across Ukraine—many joining from air-raid shelters, asking insightful questions in a second or third language. Witnessing the impact of the project was deeply meaningful, and inspired him to launch this fundraising event to support their continued education.

All donations from ticket sales night will support:

• A new online master’s in public health for those in conflict zones to build practical skills and support their communities.

• Scholarships for refugees and asylum seekers to study global leadership, human rights law, or pursue a PhD at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law.

• Travel bursaries for students fleeing conflict to study safely in the UK.
