Next Steps After Swansea

After completing my undergraduate degree, I began an MSc by Research in Sport Science. Alongside my studies, I undertook a full-time placement at Swansea City FC, which allowed me to gain valuable applied experience while conducting research in a real-world professional sport environment.

Current Role

Cardiac Coach, CP+R (Remote)
In my role, I support the prevention and rehabilitation of cardiac health by designing and coaching exercise programmes informed by evidence-based clinical research. I also provide nutritional guidance to support individuals’ overall health and wellbeing. The role is highly rewarding, particularly seeing individuals progress from improving everyday functional tasks to achieving ambitious exercise goals.

Impact of Swansea
The BSc Sport and Exercise Science programme at Swansea provided a broad academic foundation across both clinical and sport-focused disciplines. The combination of modules such as Strength and Conditioning, Anatomy, and Exercise Physiology equipped me with the theoretical understanding and practical skills required for my current role. Securing a placement at Swansea City FC was a pivotal experience, allowing my coaching ability and confidence in applied settings to develop significantly.
