Within Biosciences’ Natural Products and Environmental Resources theme, we address pressing environmental and societal challenges such as pollution, antimicrobial resistance, and biodiversity loss through fundamental and applied, interdisciplinary research.
By unlocking the biochemical potential of natural systems and understanding core metabolic processes, we develop sustainable innovations that reduce ecological impact and strengthen ecosystem resilience. Our work focuses on discovering bioactive compounds, biodegradation pathways, and nature-based solutions to improve environmental health.
Through close collaboration with academic, industry, and policy partners and the Natural Product BioHUB, we translate scientific discovery into real-world applications that support a more sustainable and resilient future.
Please contact the Natural Products and Environmental Resources theme leads Professor Eva Sonnenschein or PhD student Shumukh Alharti for any inquiries.
