Year Abroad Timeline Summary
Semester 1
Year 2 – November
- Attend the Year Abroad Information Session: you will receive an email invite to this session if you are on a degree with a year abroad the following year or if you have joined the waiting list
- Research: Explore your top 10 partner universities relevant to your subject.
- Apply: Submit your application to the Go Global Team. You will receive details about how to do this by email.
Semester 2
Year 2 – January
- Confirmation: Go Global Team confirms your placement. You will need to check your exam results to ensure you do not have any supplementary or deferred exams in the August exam period. These are not permitted and will require you to transfer off the year abroad programme.
- Apply to Host University: Begin application to your host university when prompted.
Year 2 – February to March
- Support Sessions: Attend Travel Approval and Visa Support sessions.
Year 2 – May
- Pre-departure: Join the on-campus Pre-Departure event to meet fellow students.
Year 2 – July onwards
- Farewell: Receive exam results, note any deferrals, and begin your adventure!
