Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is situated in the urban coastal city of Brisbane, Queensland. Known as “The Sunshine State” in Australia, Queensland has an average of 261 days of sunshine each year with warm summers and mild winters. As one of Australia's leading universities, QUT is proud of its state-of-art facilities, world-class teaching staff and global outlook. On campus accommodation isn’t available, but accommodation is widely available throughout the city.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.

Spaces are not guaranteed, can be limited and all students on a semester/year abroad programme are subject to a university-wide, competitive selection process.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ACADEMIC YEAR: Runs from mid-July to mid-June
COSTS: The cost of living in Brisbane will vary depending on your chosen accommodation and your lifestyle. Information on the monthly cost of living information is available in the QUT Study Abroad guide.
VISA: Once you have been accepted by QUT, you will be sent an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). You will need this to apply for your Australian student visa. Use your eCoE to organise your Australian student visa online through your closest overseas Australian embassy or consulate. You must allow enough time to complete the visa application and for your visa to be sent to you. There can be significant delays so please do not leave this until the last minute as you cannot travel to Australia without it.
ACCOMMODATION: Both on-campus and off campus accommodation available with a range of options.
HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of your time at QUT. They will provide more information on acceptance. QUT can organise OSHC for you through their preferred provider, Medibank.
