Founded in 1365, Universitat Wien is one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe. The University is located in Austria's capital, Vienna, the largest city in Austria and with a population of more than 1.9 million, Vienna is Austria's cultural, economic, and political centre. It is associated with a number of Nobel Prize winners and has been the academic home to a large number of figures both of historical and academic importance.
You can expect warm summers and cold winters in Vienna due to its continental climate, and you won’t be short of things to see and do! Vienna has a lively music scene, and is famous for its coffee culture and Christmas markets.
Being a well-connected city, great transport links give you the opportunity to explore other European countries; Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia to name a few.
