Officially the Kingdom of Denmark, Denmark is the southernmost of the Scandinavian nations. You may have heard of the concept of hygge (meaning cosy or snug) - well this apparently stems from Danish culture and reflects the low key, relaxed social interactions you will be become used to in Denmark. The country is often praised as being one of the greenest countries in the world, and there will be an abundance of bikes everywhere you look.

Swansea University is partnered with:

 ACADEMIC YEAR: The academic year generally starts in late August and will end in May.

VISAS: You may need a student residence permit to study in Denmark, please refer to the Danish Embassy website for further information. You must allow enough time to complete the permit application and for your permit to be processed and sent to you. There can be delays so please do not leave this until the last minute as you cannot travel to Denmark without it.

HEALTH INSURANCE:  You will need health insurance for the duration of your studies, you will receive further information from your host on acceptance.  You cannot use Swansea University's travel cover as a substitute for this.
