Jonathon's Experience

Jonathon studied at the University of Hong Kong for a year as part of his Sports Science degree at Swansea.

Studying at HKU, I’ve been able to deepen and expand my knowledge, allowing me to access high quality courses which differ from those at Swansea, these courses range from Nutrigenomics to Cantonese. Outside of the University I have had so many great experiences, such as completing a 70km hike known as the Lantau trail with my friends, the 50km Hong Kong Trail and running in the Peak Race marathon team. If anyone is considering studying abroad in Asia -or anywhere in the world for that matter- I would highly recommend it.

Mirnalleni's experience

As part of her Law degree at Swansea, Mirnalleni studied at HKU for a year.

I have had opportunities given to me at HKU that I would have had to fight for anywhere else. For example, for one of my modules I worked with a law firm writing up case memos, and researching and aiding with ongoing cases. Surprisingly, English is very widely spoken, with almost all signs including it. People were lovely, transport is immaculate and food is like no other – dim sum, egg tarts, milk tea – all a must-try in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is the central hub for Asia, having efficient flight connections between multiple countries. I have had the opportunity to visit Japan and Thailand! It is safe to say that my experience in Hong Kong has been nothing but amazing!
