The Netherlands (also commonly, but incorrectly, called Holland) is in Europe, bordering Germany to the east and Belgium to the south. The people, language, and culture of the Netherlands are referred to as "Dutch". It is a densely populated country, home to over 17 million people. Expect to see plenty of people on bikes - you might want to consider adopting this means of getting around yourself!
Swansea University is partnered with:
ACADEMIC YEAR: The academic year starts in September and will end in June/early July.
VISAS: You may need a visa and residence permit to study in the Netherlands, please refer to the Dutch Embassy website for further information. You must allow enough time to complete the application and for your permit to be processed and sent to you. There can be delays so please do not leave this until the last minute as you cannot travel to the Netherlands without it.
HEALTH INSURANCE: You will need health insurance for the duration of your studies, you will receive further information from your host on acceptance. You cannot use Swansea University's travel cover as a substitute for this.
