Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
I chose to study in Wales as I had researched a lot about the courses on Media studies and found out the courses that Universities in Wales offer are excellent, especially the one in Swansea University. The University is the only one in the UK that offers students to study Communications, Media Practice and Public Relations in one year of master- degree and it is exactly what I am looking for to study and perfectly aligns with my career goals.
Furthermore, the University also offers students to practice in terms of making video, graphic design in the University’s labs and video studios. They are extremely important to enable students to have practice experience before starting their professionals.
Last but not least, I was very impressed with the professors, modern study equipment and interesting extra-curriculum activities at the University. Thus, all these reasons motivated me to study at Swansea University.
Can you tell us about your course and what do you enjoy the most?
My course is about Communications, Media Practice and Public Relations. I enjoy every moment whilst studying here as my professors are extremely inspiring and professional. Moreover, my course features a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops with the assessment based on assignments, practical group work and individual projects. It enables me to develop oral and professional writing skills, improving my abilities with digital media and learning to present ideas in a range of formats. These skills and abilities are definitely vital for my future career.
What are your three favourite things about Swansea?
I love Swansea because: first, Swansea is very peaceful with a low criminal rate. Besides, the people here are extremely friendly, especially to international students.
Second, I found Swansea is very beautiful with stunning nature. You can easily access the beach, mountains as they are within the city.
Third, I found the cost of living in Swansea is very affordable. It is considered one of the most affordable cities in the UK whilst still keep a high living standard. Therefore, I know Swansea is a city for everybody, especially for international students.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other international students?
Yes, definitely I would recommend Swansea University to other international students. I’m sure they will have an amazing experience whilst studying and living here.
