Nursidah's story of being a Chevening Scholar at Swansea University
Course: MSc Public Health and Health Promotion
How do you feel about winning this scholarship?
I am very proud to be a Chevener. It’s not only about the scholarship itself, but beyond that, Chevening is about growing potential leaders in the world and helping them connect, to work towards a better world.
Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
Swansea University is one of the leading universities in the UK and I love my College’s approach to Public Health by combining medical evidence with human centered perspectives. I had to search for this approach for a long time, and I was fascinated when I found the Swansea University website, especially my college webpages. Besides that, I choose Swansea based on their rankings and the quality of the student services is excellent.
What part of the course do you enjoy the most?
I love how the lecturers deliver their modules full of energy, even in this current pandemic situation.
What are your three favourite things about Swansea?
The quiet city, the castles and the friendly people.
What are your plans for the future?
I will be returning to Indonesia to continue my work as a civil government servant, leading a project for Health Promotion in Stunting Elimination in Indonesia. I love to help improve my citizen’s quality of life.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other international students?
Yes, definitely. I will promote how Swansea University gives 100% support to their international students.
