Who should attend an open day?
Our open days are open to both prospective students and current offer holders.
Do I have to book to attend an open day?
Yes, please book a place in advance and bring your ticket with you.
Does Swansea University offer applicant visit days?
Swansea’s Spring Open Days will include similar content and provision to other universities who might use the terms ‘Applicant Day’ or ‘Offer Holder Day’.
What time does the day start and finish?
Registration will open from 8:30am and finish at approximately 4pm but how you plan your day is up to you. All sessions and talks are listed in our Open Day Programme which will be available on our website.
Do I need to book tickets for accompanying family and friends?
No. Accompanying family and friends do not need to book a ticket.
Will I receive confirmation of my booking?
When you book a place on one of our Open Days you will receive an email confirmation within a few minutes. If you do not receive this email after you have made your booking please contact us.
Do I need to register on the day?
Yes, please register on arrival at one of our registration marquees.
Can I attend more than one departmental talk?
Yes. We expect that many visitors will be interested in more than one subject and would like to attend more than one talk. Most talks are repeated throughout the day and all talks are available to book through eventbrite.
Can I go on a campus tour?
Yes. Tours of both campuses will run throughout the Open Day and will be led by our student ambassadors. You will get the chance to ask our students all about life here at Swansea University and see all the facilities we have on offer.
Do you recommend any hotels in the area?
The Visit Swansea Bay website suggests lots of nice places to stay in Swansea. I'm afraid there is no accommodation available for Open Day visitors in University Residences.
How do I get to Swansea University?
Travel information for both campuses is available from our location page. Please make sure you check which campus to visit for your chosen subject area - the location of your course will be noted on your eventbrite ticket.
Can I bring family and friends to the Open Day?
Everyone is welcome to attend our Open Day, but we only require the prospective student to have a ticket.
Where can I park on an Open Day?
Singleton Park Campus:
Parking is free for Open Day visitors at the Recreation Ground car park (SA2 0AT : /// pilots.caged.curiosity) and Singleton Park Campus (SA2 8PP : ///moving.this.radar).
Bay Campus:
Open Day visitors to Bay Campus please use our free Bay Studios park and ride service (<5 minute journey time) - location SA1 8QB, : /// exploring.books.screen.
Campus parking is available for blue badge holders or mobility / access requirements only on this site.
Are there parking spaces available for visitors with disabilities?
We aim to make our Open Days as accessible as possible for all of our visitors.
Parking is available on both Singleton Park and Bay Campus for those with disability or mobility requirements. Please notify a member of staff or student ambassador on your arrival to campus and they will direct you to the nearest suitable space.
I am a teacher and would like to bring a group of students to one of your Open Days. How can I make a booking?
Please email the student recruitment office with the following information:
- Number of students who would like to attend each departmental talk
- Expected arrival and departure times
- Name
- Address of the school or college
One of the team will then get in touch with you to confirm your booking.
