Biosciences – Biology

After you register at Fulton House, please head to the Wallace Building for your subject session.  

As part of your session, you will attend a Biosciences Introductory Talk along with Marine Biology and Zoology, which will provide you with unique information about our degree schemes, and how to select the best university and degree scheme for your interests. You will then split off to your subject specific sessions, and also visit our cutting-edge Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Research (CSAR). You will have the opportunity to engage with our academics during the coffee break.

Biosciences – Marine Biology

After you register at Fulton House, please head to the Wallace Building for your subject session. 

As part of your session, you will attend a Biosciences Introductory Talk along with Biology and Zoology, which will provide you with unique information about our courses, and how to select the best university and degree scheme for your interests.  

You will then split off to your subject-specific sessions, and engage with our academics during the coffee break. You will also have the opportunity to visit our Mary Anning Research Vessel in the Marina (coach ride to and from included) leaving from Fulton House at 11:45 am and returning to Fulton House at around 13:15.

Biosciences – Zoology

After you register at Fulton House, please head to the Wallace Building for your subject session.  

As part of your session, you will attend a Biosciences Introductory Talk along with Biology and Marine Biology, which will provide you with unique information about our degree schemes, and how to select the best university and degree scheme for your interests.  

You will then split off to your subject-specific sessions, visiting our Zoology Museum and participating in a hands-on Zoology session in our teaching labs. You will also engage with our academics during the coffee break.

Geography

After you register at Fulton House, please head to the Wallace Building for your subject session. 

As part of your session, you will attend a Welcome Talk which will encompass information on Human and Physical Geography, as well as Environmental Science and the Climate Emergency and Environmental Geoscience, and then split off to your subject specific sessions. You take part in activity sessions relating to your subject preference and can ask questions to our academics and current students.

Physics

After you register at Fulton House, please head to Vivian Tower 6th Floor Event Horizon for your subject session. 

Following this session, you will have the option to go to the Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM) on Bay Campus. This optional tour will take an additional 1.5 hours (including travel) so please make sure you plan your day accordingly, as campus tours close at 15:30 and accommodation viewings close at 16:00.

Computer Science

After you register at Engineering North, please head to the Great Hall 043, where you will receive an introductory talk from the Faculty, before we take you to where your subject talk will take place. 

After your talk at the Great Hall, our Student Ambassadors will come to collect you and bring you to the Computational Foundry. Your time with us will start with an introduction to our Computer Science programmes, and what you might expect from your degree experiences. Then we will break into guided groups to visit our facilities, experiencing exciting talks from our academics about their teaching and research, and getting to meet our current students! At the end of the session, we will reconvene for an informal Q&A session.

Engineering Programmes

Our Engineering programmes include Aerospace, Biomedical, General, Mechanical, Civil, Electronic and Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science and Engineering. 

After you register at Engineering North, please head to the Great Hall 043, where you will receive an introductory talk from the Faculty before our student ambassadors take you to your subject specific talks.  

Your subject talk will begin with an insightful course overview from the admissions tutor, followed by an exciting tour of our lab facilities. 

Don't miss the chance to meet our dynamic societies, such as Formula One and Rocket Society, and connect with staff from the Physics department in the Engineering Central foyerHere, you can chat with student ambassadors from various Engineering disciplines and explore what a typical week looks like, through our informative subject posterboards. 

At 12:30 – 13:10 and 15:30 - 16:10, you will have the option to go to the Centre for Integrative Semiconductor materials (CISM) along with physics students. Please let the Electrical Engineering team know if you would like to join the CISM tour, and more details will be provided during your subject talk.

This optional tour will take an additional 40 minutes so please make sure you plan your day accordingly, as campus tours close at 15:30 and accommodation viewings close at 16:00.

Mathematics & Actuarial Science

After you register at Engineering North, please head to the Great Hall 043, where you will receive an introductory talk from the Faculty, before we take you to where your subject talk will take place. 

Your subject specific session will include a Mathematics Introductory Talk, with unique information about our degree programmes and what to expect from your degree experience, a Q&A session, and a mathematics taster session. You will then split off into small groups, visiting teaching and learning facilities, and have the opportunity to ask questions to our academics and current students.

Sport and Exercise Science

After you register at Engineering North, please head to Engineering Central for a welcome talk, followed by a tour of our state of the art labs. Here you will be able to watch some practical demonstrations, experience a typical teaching session and meet your lecturers.
