Keir Hardie and James Callaghan Buildings
Home to numerous subjects within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Keir Hardie and James Callaghan house teaching facilities that enhance the student study experience, including computer labs, a TV Studio, a translation and interpreting suite, and a Virtual Reality Suite.
James Callaghan building is home to History, Classics, Egyptology, Politics and International Relations, Philosophy, PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and American Studies. In the ‘basement’ of James Callaghan Building, there is the freshly refurbished ‘Change Please’ Callaghan’s Coffee Shop serving a range of hot and cold drinks and food. This building also houses a newly created student experience space situated adjacent to the coffee shop.
Kier Hardie building is home to Education and Early Childhood Studies, Economics, Welsh, Criminology, Modern Languages, English and Creative Writing, Applied Linguistics and Modern Languages. This building also benefits from a newly developed creative suite, for PGR students and staff to conduct collaborative activity within their own communities and external stakeholders/partners.
Students undergo field trips nationally and abroad and can collaborate with the Egypt Centre and Welsh Assembly through modules and are supported to gain work experience in a wide range of industries, from the police force through to publishers.
