There is extremely limited car parking at the University and across the city so we would strongly discourage you from bringing your cars to University. If you’re living on campus or close by, cycling, walking or use of the University bus service is your best form of transport. More information can be found on our Travel pages.

There is no parking at Bay Campus, Bay Studios or Singleton Park Campus for students between the core hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. Some permits which cover the core hours period are made available to students meeting certain criteria.

For those who, due to personal circumstances do have to drive, further details on permit eligibility criteria and how to apply for a permit can be found below.

Please be mindful of parking within designated areas onsite and parking responsibly offsite, in particular within areas of the local community and on business premises.

Pricing

Due to disproportionate charges and with considerable costs to the university car parking infrastructure,  we have recently completed a review of parking permit costs. As a result, there will be a phased increase to some permit types over the next 3 years. This will primarily affect students with medical permits, carer permits and creche permits.

  • In year 1 - from September 2024, these permits will increase from £44 to £100 a year.
  • In year 2 – from September 2025, these permits will increase to £200 per year.
  • In year 3  - from September 2026, these permits will increase to £300 a year, to match the current cost for other student parking permits.

There is currently no charge for students in possession of a Blue Badge. Moving forward permit costs will be subject to regular review.
