Course Overview

Do you want to develop the skills to effectively manage businesses through the new digital era? Digital transformation is rapidly changing the business environment; from the emergence of cyber security to digital ethics, skilled digital business managers are becoming essential to organisational success.

The digital economy has created a plethora of new opportunities for businesses, including new business models and modes of competition in different sectors of the economy. The skills you’ll possess can help organisations to embrace this, remain competitive, and, whilst rethinking each aspect of their current business model, become “digital”.

The MSc Management (Digital Business) at Swansea University will give you an intensive focus on the impact of Information Systems on managing organisations and the related challenges and opportunities of new business models, covering topics such as Managing in a digital world using information systems, and Digital Business.

You will also learn about management in an interconnected global community as well as core management concepts such as managing financial resources, operations management, human resource management and marketing management to give you a solid grounding in a range of dynamic business principles.

Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence, the course is open to students from any discipline who would like to work in business or management. Upon successful completion of the relevant mapped modules within the MSc Management you will qualify for CMI’s Level seven Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership.

How You're Taught

Online learning may take place ‘live’ using software such as Zoom, allowing you to interact with the lecturer and peers and to ask questions. Lecture recordings also allow for more flexibility to revisit material, to revise for assessments and to enhance learning outside of the classroom. Some modules have extra resources in our virtual learning environment (Canvas), such as videos, slides and quizzes enabling further flexible study.
