Course Overview

Have you just completed or about to complete The Bevan Exemplar Programme, the Climb Programme or equivalent?

This course provides a unique opportunity for professionals in the health and care sector to develop their leadership and management skills while applying innovative approaches to transform the way health and care services are delivered.

The Bevan Exemplar Programme is a national programme that supports health and care professionals to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve services and patient outcomes, while the Climb Programme is a leadership development programme for emerging leaders in health and care. This course will offer academic input, pedagogical framing, and assessment mechanisms for experiential learning.

This PGCert Advanced Management (Applied Innovation) provides a unique and innovative approach to leadership and management development in the health and care sector, which is essential for meeting the challenges facing the sector today and in the future through research and innovation.

If learners, having completed the PGCert, wish to further their studies to a full Master’s degree they will be able to apply for the MSc Advanced Management (Health Innovation and Transformation) by cashing-in their existing credits.

YOUR APPLIED INNOVATION EXPERIENCE

This course is delivered in a research and practice-led learning environment; where the most up-to-date knowledge is used to motivate and inspire learners; maximizing your learning outcomes. You will become co-creators of research during the PGCert Advanced Management (Applied Innovation).

Your learning will be developed through original applications of concepts and models to cases so that you are confident and equipped to deploy your new skills in your own place of work.

You will also draw on local, regional, national and international associations and networks. This breadth of research, teaching and professional expertise will serve to greatly enrich your development in the field of innovation and transformation within health and care.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

This course is designed to better equip current and emerging middle and senior managers within health systems (UK and globally), social care, life sciences and third sectors to be the driving force behind innovation and transformation within their organisations.

Modules

The PGCert Advanced Management (Applied Innovation) is taught via a blended approach of online and in-person engagement with academic staff and subject matter experts.

The programme is based on the interaction between theory and practice and will provide you with a critical appreciation of applying research skills and methodologies in a health and care context.

The 2025 programme will run from Monday 10th March 2025 to Tuesday 30th September 2025.

The ONLINE induction is scheduled for Friday 21st February 2025.
