Swansea University and Coleg Cambria originally established their partnership in 2016 in order to develop and deliver an Aeronautical Manufacturing degree programme for Airbus. This first programme saw 15 students graduate in 2018 and since that time the relationship between the two institutions has grown and flourished.
The partnership now offers a number of collaborative apprenticeship and degree programmes which includes BEng in Aeronautical and Manufacturing, BEng in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and BSc in Applied Business Management. These programmes are now delivered to an ever growing range of employers and both institutions are committed to maintaining and delivering high quality, academic, work-based learning programmes to meet the needs of industry in Wales. These programmes have been delivered in Coleg Cambria Northup Campus with residentials taking place at Swansea University until 2021.
The partnership has been expanded further to offer the BSc Applied Business Management in South Wales as well as North Wales. From September 2021 delivery will be at both Swansea University Bay Campus and Coleg Cambria Northop Campus. This will allow a greater mix of sectors, employers, business and organisations to develop their workforce through this programme.
Both institutions are enthusiastic about this new development and the future for work-based learning in Wales.
