Bevan Commission overview
The School is home to the Bevan Commission, a think tank that works to interpret, analyse, and advise on health-related matters in Wales. It provides expert advice, informed by evidence and consensus of the authoritative opinion, to Vaughan Gething, Minister for Health and Social Services in the Welsh Government.
It has developed links with local authorities, health boards, private sector partners, and academics, including researchers from SoM. Our research with the Welsh Blood Service has contributed to improved outcomes for patients and operational efficiencies, and led to SoM creating an online training module for the European Blood Alliance. The ‘lean’ methods developed through this work have also been widely adopted across the Bevan Exemplars programme.
