Course Overview

Research shows that the incremental approaches currently adopted by business are arguably insufficient for delivering at the scale and pace necessary to achieve the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

This course is designed to guide Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) through the essential concepts of sustainability and responsible business management. Participants will explore key topics such as sustainability, ethics, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015). Additionally, the module offers insights into training opportunities and standards like carbon literacy and B-Corp accreditation. This is a course tailored to the working professional, designed to fit easily into your working patterns and to offer flexibility.

Course Outline:

The course is delivered face to face over 4 half days in two day blocks within the School of Management Swansea University, Bay Campus.

First half day: Introduction to Sustainable Development and Responsible Business within SMEs.

Second half day: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The Role of SMEs.

Third half day: The Well Being of Future Generations Act (2015) and The Five Ways of Working.

Fourth half day: Swansea University Carbon Literacy Training, certificate and e-badge.  Knowledge of accreditation such as BCorp.
