Adele Cahill (She/Her)

Adele Cahill

Adele Cahill has been a senior manager and leader within NHS Wales for over 40 years - a procurement professional heading up the procurement teams across NHS Wales for 30 years including general senior management roles supporting turnaround and major transformation programmes across various Welsh Health Boards. Her roles have been instrumental in reviewing practices across a range of services, with a track record of effective strategic leadership delivering successful change management, programme, project management and implementation.

Adele was introduced to the Value-Based Health Care work during 2015 by Professor Alan Brace, the Director of Finance for Health and Social Care, Welsh Government. She subsequently joined Aneurin Bevan Health Board to provide the strategic programme direction in setting up and leading the Value-Based Health Care programme, alongside Dr Sally Lewis who provided the clinical leadership.

Adele is now the Deputy Director within the Welsh Value in Health Centre, Value Transformation Directorate, and is keen to see value created across the Health and Social Care system, looking at opportunities to reduce unwarranted variation in practice, streamlining pathways of care to ensure equity and access for patients, ensuring efficient use of resources. Adele is keen to explore the links between Procurement and Value-Based Healthcare, looking at how Wales might develop strategic partnerships with Industry and Academia.
