About

Alex is a Lecturer and registered Mental Health Nurse who joined the University in 2022.

Alex has a background in working in both NHS and independent healthcare sectors, in a variety of community and inpatient settings as both a practitioner and in service management. His experience of the sense of disconnectedness sometimes experienced by healthcare staff has led to his current role in Health Informatics.

Alex has an interest in the variety of service structures and their respective governance fellow practitioners must work within. The role of digital health and care has become more important to consider, and Alex has a long-term professional interest in increasing the quality of care, patient experience and efficiency of services by means of digital innovation.

Teaching Interests

Alex teaches across a range of modules within the MSc Health Informatics programme.

With experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Alex has been engaging with the University to be able to integrate some psychological skills into the teaching of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
