About

Mr Adam Morgan is a Tutor in Robotics within the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Swansea University. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Swansea University, with academic interests focused on robotics, automation, and intelligent manufacturing systems.

Before entering academia, Adam worked in the IT industry for 15 years, gaining extensive experience in systems integration, software development, and technical support across a range of sectors. He joined Swansea University in 2014 as an IT Engineer within the ASTUTE research group (Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies), where he supported a range of collaborative industry-focused projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes through applied innovation. During this period, he developed a growing interest in robotics and additive manufacturing, which led him to pursue postgraduate study and subsequently transition into academic teaching.

In his current role, Adam contributes to the delivery of undergraduate modules, placing a strong emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. He draws on both his industrial background and emerging research to enhance student engagement and bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Adam has published several peer-reviewed research papers in the fields of robotics and additive manufacturing. His work explores the integration of intelligent systems within manufacturing environments, with particular attention to sensor fusion, robotic perception, and novel applications of 3D printing technologies.
