About

Alex originally trained as a film archivist and began working in Commercial Access at the Imperial War Museum Film Archive, before re-training as a Lecturer in Further Education and taking up post as Head of Learning at the Yorkshire Film Archive. Since completing her PhD (Nottingham, 2014), she has worked as a researcher in the charitable sector, and as an academic in Higher Education Institutions.

Her research interests are in film education, and arts and creativity in education. In 2017 and 2018, Alex was appointed Film Education Expert for the EACEA, in the EU Commission.

Alex’s current role focuses on educational research in the fields of creativity in education, pedagogical enquiry, and professional learning.
