Dr Augustine Egwebe received his PhD and BEng degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Swansea University, Wales.
Dr Egwebe currently works as a Senior Lecturer in the EEE Department at Swansea University. He specialises in electrical power systems, including the integration of renewable energy resources with microgrids, energy management, modern control systems and robotics. He is also responsible for facilitating and teaching various core engineering modules, including EG-243 Control Systems modules to Electrical and Mechanical Engineering cohorts and EG-241 Electrical Machines module to Electrical Engineering students. Dr Egwebe has also contributed to designing a new second-year EGA222 Electrical Machines Laboratory module, including the development of a bite-size open-ended Arduino-based hardware-in-the-loop motor experiment using MATLAB/Simulink development environment. Dr Egwebe also promotes and champions the use of technology to enhance students' interaction while inspiring long-life learning. He is a Fellow of the UK's Advance Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical Technology (IET) and reviews various academic transactions.
His current research investigates novel and cost-effective, dynamic control and powers electronics solutions to enhance the efficient integration of various renewable energy systems with the microgrid. His current research project also includes the development of aggregated control strategies to support energy forecasting for real-time scheduling.
