About
As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a Chartered Engineer (CEng), and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE), I currently hold the position of Associate Professor at Swansea University. My teaching portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects at both undergraduate and PhD levels, with a primary focus on manufacturing and robotics. Additionally, I serve as the Director of the AIRBUS BEng and FEngd Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering degree programs and an External examiner for Plymouth University.
My research interests centre around Micro and Nano technology and I serve as an Associate Editor for Microsystem Technologies (Springer). During my PhD studies from 2006 to 2009, I concentrated on Micro Injection Moulding, specifically examining Tooling and Process Factors. In recent years, I have shifted my focus towards Robotics and Automation, 3D printing, and Aerospace Drilling techniques.
My contributions to academia are evidenced by my publication record, which includes 6 book chapters and 84 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and international conference proceedings. With a total citation count of 1,055, my work has garnered recognition within the scientific community, as reflected by my h-index of 19.
Furthermore, my academic endeavours are enriched by 16 years of industrial experience in the automotive sector. This background provides me with a robust technical and practical foundation, particularly in the areas of machine tools, robotics, and laser cutting technologies.
