About

Denis Dennehy is Professor of Information Systems & Sustainability in the School of Management, Swansea University. He serves as the School Research Lead and is also a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools Research Committee.

His research focuses on the mediating role of information systems and their implications for teams, organisations, and society. He has served as PI and co-PI on industry-oriented research projects funded by NHS Wales, UKRI, Erasmus+, Science Foundation Ireland, Irish Aid, and Enterprise Ireland. This research has been published in leading journals including Information Systems Journal, Information & Management, Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, European Journal of Operational Research, and IEEE, as well as in practitioner outlets such as Harvard Business Review, and Cutter Business Technology Journal.

He is co-editor-in-chief of the Communications of the Association for Information Systems  and has guest-edited numerous special issues in his field. He is a Distinguished Member – Cum Laude of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and recipient of the AIS Sandra Slaughter Service Award (2023), recognising leadership and service within the AIS community. He earned his Ph.D. (Business Information Systems) from University College Cork.

Topics include IS strategy and innovation, project and portfolio management, business value of emerging technologies, digital transformation, design thinking, supply chain management, IS for sustainable development, and research methods.
