Fiona Jordan is a higher education practitioner with extensive experience in teaching and learning, research and scholarship and external partnership working. She previously had strategic responsibility for transnational education activities in Business and Law at UWE Bristol, and now works at Swansea University teaching and researching in the area of Tourism.
Fiona’s primary research interests are in gender and tourism, socio-cultural geographies of tourism and sustainability in the context of tourism and events. Fiona has worked on collaborative research projects with academic colleagues in the UK, USA and Norway and has significant experience of working with education partners in countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, China and the Maldives. She also works with a range of UK festivals, charities and community groups evaluating the impact of sustainability initiatives on behaviour of attendees.
Fiona is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has always been interested in pedagogy and in research that adds to our understanding of how to enhance the student experience. Her particular areas of expertise lie in research-informed teaching and internationalisation of the student experience.
