About

Dr Grace Bailey is a Research Officer and Data Scientist based at Swansea University Medical School. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience, before completing an MSc in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology at Swansea University. She completed her PhD at Cardiff University which utilised health data to investigate dystonia. 

Grace went on to work for SAIL Databank where she was an analyst on a wide range of health, social and education research projects using administrative data. Grace’s current research focuses on the health and well-being of vulnerable children and young people in Wales.

Career Highlights

Research

Grace has expertise in analyses of longitudinal data, linking administrative records, and scoping and literature reviews.

She has published in areas of dystonia, mental health, childhood immunisations, and care pathways.

Her PhD focused on the non-motor symptoms (psychiatric, cognitive and sleep disorders) of dystonia. This included use of UK Biobank and the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage Databank, as well as primary data collection using wearables.
