I am a Subject Librarian at Swansea University providing support for the School of Management, College of Engineering and College of Science.
I support students and researchers through one to one appointments, e-learning and teaching in the following areas:
Literature searching
General search skills, including advance search strategies for postgraduate students
Effective use of online databases
Finding and using financial data and statistics
Referencing and avoiding plagiarism
I am a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals (CILIP) and an active chartership mentor, helping colleagues navigate their journey to professional registration.
Having acted as a local representative on the Librarians' Information Literacy Annual Conference Committee (LILAC), dealing with preparations to deliver the 2017 LILAC Conference, I am now the Communications and Marketing Officer for LILAC. I have responsibility for the Committee's marketing and communications strategy, working to engage with a wide audience in the information literacy community and beyond.
I have sat on Swansea University's Library Marketing Group since the group's creation and regularly work with colleagues to create and deliver marketing events to promote our services to students and staff. I am currently co-chair of the group.
I am currently studying for a Postgraduate Certificate Teaching in Higher Education at Swansea University.
