About
Dr Hannah Buckland is a Research Officer (postdoctoral researcher) in the Swansea Tephra Group working with Dr Paul Albert on his UKRI Future Leaders Fellow grant. Her research is centred on reconstructing the eruptive histories at volcanoes using a combination of field data and models of volcanic ash transport and deposition.
Prior to her time at Swansea, Hannah completed her undergraduate degree in Geology and Physical Geography at the University of Edinburgh (2011-2015), an MSc in Volcanology (2015-2016) and PhD in volcanology (2017-2021) at the University of Bristol.
Hannah joined Swansea University in October 2021 and is based at the Singleton Campus.
