Bridget Bartlett is a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the eArly Modern European NeuroDivergence (AMEND) Project. They recently completed their PhD in English at the University of Mississippi. Their research focuses on neurodiversity and intersectionality English literature and culture of the 16th and 17th centuries. They are currently completing a monograph that traces the role of neurodiversity in the formation of racial thinking in this period by examining how major writers like Spenser and Shakespeare treated standard, nondisabled cognition as virtually synonymous with Englishness and elided disabled and nonstandard cognition with a variety of other forms of difference.
