Dr Boru REN joined Swansea University as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Finance in September 2023, after earning a PhD in Finance from Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin (The University of Dublin) in Ireland. Boru also holds a MCom in Quantitative Finance from the University of Sydney Business School and a BSc in Chemical Systems from the University of Melbourne, both in Australia. His research has been published in reputed international peer-reviewed academic journals, including, amongst others, Economic Modelling, Energy Economics and Journal of International Money and Finance.

Boru welcomes research proposals from exceptional and motivated potential PhD candidates with strong quantitative skills and interests in his research areas. He is particularly interested in supervising research topics broadly related to, but not limited to, corporate finance, governance, sustainable finance, financial contagion and forecasting.

MN-1527 Data Analysis and Visualisation

This module teaches students the fundamentals of data analysis and visualisation, including data collection and preparation, descriptive statistics, visualisation techniques, and statistical inference and modelling. Students will learn how to effectively communicate and present data. The module aims to equip students with the skills to perform data analysis and create engaging data visualisations.
MN-3002 Financial Market Efficiency

The module is designed to develop an awareness of the hypothesis of financial market efficiency and the challenges to this hypothesis from behavioural finance.
