Dr Iyad Almamlouk joined Swansea University in October 2024 as a Lecturer in Accounting within the Accounting & Finance department at the School of Management. With over 15 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, audit, and compliance, his career spans diverse industries, including oil, gas, telecommunications, banking, and microfinance.

He holds an MSc in International Banking and Finance (with Distinction) and a PhD in Finance from Swansea University, where his research focused on the impact of media on corporate cash holdings, corporate monitoring, information asymmetry, earnings management, and governance. In recognition of his commitment to teaching and learning in higher education, he has been awarded Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

Dr Almamlouk delivers high-quality teaching for undergraduate modules, including MN-2067 Principles of Management Accounting (Lecturer) and MN-2557 Management Accounting 1B (Seminar Delivery). His teaching approach emphasises active learning strategies and real-world examples while promoting equality, inclusivity, and student engagement.

His research interests include corporate governance, earnings management, corporate cash holdings, media influence on corporate behavior, information asymmetry and corporate monitoring, and agency conflicts.
