Jae-Yeon Kim is Lecturer in International Business at Swansea University and formerly held academic positions at Portsmouth Business School and the University of Warwick. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an active reviewer for the Academy of Management and the Korean Academy of International Business.
His research focuses on foreign direct investment (FDI), international business strategy, and the role of institutional and location-specific factors in multinational enterprise (MNE) decision-making. He has published in leading journals such as Management International Review, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, and Australian Journal of Public Administration. His work has explored Korean FDI motives, tax haven strategies, and public sector innovation, and has been presented at major conferences including AIB and ASIBS.
Dr. Kim has contributed to UK policy-related research through projects funded by the ESRC and Warwick University, including studies on inward investment in the West Midlands and the impact of the City of Culture initiative. He holds a PhD in Strategy & International Business from the University of Warwick, an MSc from the University of Birmingham, and an MBA from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Prior to academia, he served as an infantry officer in the South Korean Army and worked with Samsung Heavy Industries.
Dr. Kim is available for doctoral supervision in areas related to international business, FDI, and global strategy.
