SHCM00
Clinical Assessment for Healthcare Scientists
This module will give practitioners the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding which underpins the use of clinical assessment in the context of differential diagnosis. Practitioners will be expected to apply knowledge and basic skills of clinical assessment to their individual scope of practice within a cardiology, respiratory physiology or sleep-disordered breathing clinic. The opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the role of other diagnostic modalities such as radiology and pathology are integral to the module.

Clinical Assessment Skills
This module builds upon students existing knowledge as registered health care practitioners and provides a systematic and comprehensive education in holistic clinical assessment and clinical reasoning. This is underpinned by a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. Emphasis is placed upon the integration of knowledge, clinical methods and consultation skills into a competent consultation enabling the student to draw accurate clinical conclusions, which they can justify from a pathophysiological and psychosocial perspective
