About
Mike gained his PhD in Genetic toxicology from Swansea University in 2019; his thesis focused on the inhalation hazard posed by graphene nanomaterials in both 2D and advanced in vitro lung models.
Since gaining his PhD, Mike has become a senior post-doctoral member of the In Vitro Toxicology Group (IVTG) at Swansea University. Mike is currently involved in the Horizon 2020 RiskGONE and NanoInformaTIX projects as a Research Officer, which encompasses multiple European partners and collaborators. His primary role focuses on the human risk detection and management of engineered nanomaterials in genotoxicology with the aim of developing more robust, nano-specific genotoxicology protocols.
Mike’s primary research interests are in regulatory toxicology, nanomaterial mutagenicity, and nanomaterial characterisation.
