About
I am an advocate for exercise and health, in particular it fascinates me the potential of exercise during and after pregnancy, not only for women’s health but also the promising effects of maternal exercise in foetal development and their posterior health.
Since 2010 I have been studying and researching the effects of prenatal exercise in the maternal and foetal cardiovascular adaptations.
I am the leader and principal investigator of a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Grant Award. The Physical Exercise and Cardiovascular Adaptation Monitoring in Pregnancy (PECAMP) Study aims to investigate the effect of exercise in the maternal and foetal cardiovascular adaptations.
My mission as a researcher and exercise professional is that pre and postnatal exercise are recognised as essential and included as part of the national health care system. As well as breaking the stigma around exercise and pregnancy, female pelvic and perineal health; and female mental health.
