About
I'm a researcher interested in studying animal movement to understand spatial usage. At Swansea University, I'm studying the movement of fish in the Bristol Channel via acoustic telemetry, particularly around Hinkley Point C.
Before joining Swansea University, I worked at the University of Plymouth on the Pollack FISP project, where I analysed data on pollack post-release survival, movements and vertical activity behaviours. I did my PhD at Ghent University in Belgium where I studied the fine-scale movements of migrating freshwater fish as they attempted to locate a fish pass. In particular, I linked their movements to environmental parameters such as flow velocity to identify habitat preferences and used results to simulate fish movement under different conditions to visualise how spatial usage may change.
