About

Sara joined the School of Law in August 2020. Her research interests crime and victimisation in the digital world, policing, tech law and legal tech, as well as data ethics. She has experience using qualitative and quantitative methods and is passionate about the benefits of working in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders, to harness the benefits of mixed methods and interdisciplinary research.

Sara holds a BSc in Politics and International Relations and a Graduate Diploma in Law. She has also undertaken an MSc by Research on counter-terrorism policing. In addition, she has worked as a researcher within industry and academia, has interned with the UK’s Home Office tutored for five years in both Law and Criminology.

Her Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded Ph.D. project examined vulnerability and (repeat) victimisation to fraud and computer crimes, in collaboration with the Southern Wales Regional Organised Crime Unit.

In her spare time, Sara volunteers with the Welsh charity Asylum Justice and produces and co-presents the Digital Faultlines podcast (previously known as the Swansea Cyber Law and Security podcast).
