About

Sarah-Jane is a Lecturer in Engineering Sustainability in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University. She has been a Technology Transfer fellow for SPECIFIC IKC at Swansea University, enabling the upscale and optimisation of printed perovskite solar photovoltaics between 2019 and 2024. Prior to this, she obtained an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) on "Advanced manufacture by screen printing" (2020), and a Master's Degree (MEng) in Product Design Engineering (2015), from Swansea University. She attained her Chartered statues with IMechE and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2022. Sarah-Jane’s research interests are in printed electronics, PV manufacture, and the development of novel renewable energy solutions for wearable devices, with a circular economy approach.

Sarah-Jane is also an active member of both the IOM3 and IMechE, as the President of the South Wales Materials Association and the Regional Education Officer for IMechE South Wales. Additionally, she is a passionate, award-winning STEM Ambassador with a decade of experience organising and providing public engagement and outreach events with thousands of young people.
