About

Since 2018, Susanne has taught German language modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Swansea University. She serves as the staff coordinator for the German Society and supports the students’ society’s language café.

Susanne began teaching German in 2008 at the Goethe-Institute Sydney/Australia. She has taught German in various institutions, including Monash University Melbourne, Cardiff University and the Language Centre of the University of Vienna. Before her current role as Lecturer for German Language, Susanne worked closely with ‘Routes into Languages Cymru’ and developed a toolkit for primary school teachers introducing German. She continues to deliver master courses for ‘Routes into Languages Cymru’ on various topics, including ‘The Making of Germany – 1989’.

Regardless of the context in which she teaches, Susanne’s special interest lies in breaking down difficult structures into easily digestible pieces. This approach applies to grammatical, pronunciation, and culture-related content encountered in her modules.

Susanne is a member of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as an "Ortslektor" (local lecturer), making her part of the worldwide DAAD network that supports scholarships and diverse projects.
