Can I get advice from the SU?
At some point, everyone needs someone to talk to or a bit of advice - don’t ever feel like you are alone. The Students’ Union Advice Centre is independent of the University and is here for you if you have any problems. We give free and confidential advice to all students, just get in touch by calling 01792 295 466 or email advice@swansea-union.co.uk.
Working at the Students' Union
The Students' Union is completely student-led. Last year, they spent £390,343 on student wages so that you can earn money and gain experience whilst you study.
They have jobs within their students' bars, shops and even their marketing and events departments. You can apply for vacancies.
How can I volunteer while at Uni?
Our Student Voice (Opportunities and Sports) Coordinator, Thomas, can be on hand to offer you any advice you may need about getting involved in volunteering while at Uni. Drop them an email on thomas.wellar@swansea-union.co.uk.
What role does NUS play?
NUS is the wider student movement – the National Union of Students. They exist to represent all students in the country. As a member of Swansea Students’ Union, you’re also a part of NUS too.
What’s an NUS TOTUM card? And where do I get one from?
NUS TOTUM cards are the famous student discount cards – you can use them on the high street and online to get fantastic savings on fashion, cinema, rail tickets and loads more.
For just £12, you’ll get all these discounts for a full year – after just a few savings, the card practically pays for itself.
You can order yours by either calling into the Students’ Union or if you want to start saving straight away, you can get one from the NUS website.
