Each summer programme page will detail the specific application instructions for that programme. However, below is a general overview of the timeline and what you can expect when you apply to one of our approved summer programmes.
1. Do your research
- Attend an information event on campus or online, or research programmes via our website and programme provider webpages
- Check the costs and funding information of programmes and decide if they suit your budget
2. Apply for funding and apply to your chosen programme
- Apply for funding through the Go Global team via our online bursary application form. FUNDING IS LIMITED
- At the same time, you can apply to your chosen programme (unless advised otherwise). Application information is available on each programme page.
- Upload your bank details to the University intranet system at this stage!
3. Funding confirmation and making payments
- We will let you know if you are eligible for funding and send you a Grant Agreement, which you must sign and return
- You will be responsible for paying any required deposits, programme fees, arranging accommodation, booking your travel etc. Some programme providers may assist with this. If you pay any deposits or programme fees that are non-refundable but fail to participate, you remain liable for these costs.
- You are encouraged to complete the travel approval process before making any financial commitments, however we appreciate you may choose to make financial commitments before then. If you choose to do so, you remain liable for these amounts.
4. International Travel Approval
- We will provide you with details of Swansea University's Travel Approval process. You must receive travel approval in order to go abroad. You will not receive any funding or be covered by SU insurance without it.
5. Receiving funding
- You will receive the first instalment of your funding when you start your summer programme and return an Arrival Form signed by you and the programme provider.
- At the end of your summer programme, you will receive the second instalment of your funding, once you have returned a Certificate of Attendance signed by you and the programme provider and completed online feedback
- No funding will be paid before you have started your summer programme, returned the requested documentation and provided us with your bank details.
