Lake Wolfgang

The University of Vienna's Summer School is located in the picturesque village of Strobl in the Salzkammergut region, one of Austria’s most attractive summer vacation areas. Students are accommodated in high-standard single and double rooms at the program’s beautiful summer campus on the shore of Lake Wolfgang.

The 4 week Sommerhochschule European Studies programme consists of two, two-week sessions between 12th July and 9th August 2025. Six European Studies courses are offered during the first session and six during the second session. You can choose from courses in law, politics, economics, history, cultural studies, and German.

1. Dates, Costs and Funding

Programme dates for 4 week programme: 

1st session: 12th July – 26th July 2025 (2 weeks)

2nd session: 27th July to 9th August 2025 (2 weeks)

Students must complete both sessions as part of the 4 week programme.

 

Programme fee for 4 weeks is €2,590 /£2,180* which includes:

  • Registration
  • Non-refundable deposit of 400 Euros
  • Tuition for the four week program - students can attend four courses
  • Use of all campus facilities (e.g. library, study room, computer room, WLAN, Bürglhaus bar, Sehausstüberl, etc.)
  • Use of all sports and recreational facilities 
  • All planned excursions

GBP fee is an estimate based on the conversion rate January 2025

 

Not included in the programme fee:

  • Flights
  • Accommodation and full board 2,128.70 Euros (single room)
  • Accommodation and full board 1792.70 Euros (shared double room)
  • Mandatory Austrian students' union fee of 24.70 Euros

Students may need to pay additional costs which are not outlined above.

 

Funding available:

  • £1,500 for non-WP students
  • £2,100 for Widening Participation students
