The location of Swansea University and how to travel to Swansea

Travelling by Coach

Students can travel by National Express coach which runs buses directly from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports to Swansea. This is the cheapest way to travel. Transfer times are approximately 4 hours (Heathrow) and 5.5 hours (Gatwick). If you favour this option you will need to book your ticket 24 hours in advance of boarding the bus and make your own way to the correct coach pick up point at the airport (which is determined by your arrival terminal) to board the coach.

For a full list of fares, departure times, pick up points and to book online please go to the National Express website  - Please remember to read the terms and conditions.

Travelling by Train

Many train services offer either 'Standard', or 'First' Class' tickets (and therefore seating). First Class is much more expensive than 'Standard Class', which most people find perfectly comfortable. It is advisable to book a seat in advance on long distance journeys, especially if you plan to travel on a Friday.

Train services are operated by a variety of different companies. Some companies offer special deals, especially if booked in advance, on certain routes (usually longer distance routes). For timetables and fares, see the National Rail website.

Students can get the train from Gatwick or Heathrow to London and then get a connecting train from Paddington to Swansea. For train times and prices please see the National Rail website - Please remember to read the terms and conditions.

Please make sure you book your train ticket before travelling to Swansea.

Private Car Airport Pickup

The College, Swansea University recommends booking your private airport pickup service via Executive Airport Student Services UK. The team will work with a friendly and reliable local company to arrange your airport pickup. The driver will meet you at the airport terminal and take you directly to your accommodation, ensuring a smooth and relaxing start to your time in the UK.
